A long
look behind
the work.

01 – Who

Senior product designer.
Ten years in.

Ten years making products where the UX carries the weight and the UI earns the trust. Getting the problem right is most of the job. The brief points at it, but the real shape shows up in how people actually use things. The interface comes after that, and I hold it to a high bar, because a careful surface is what makes the thinking feel trustworthy.

I came up through Fine Arts, photography, and music before product, and it shows in how I work. Composition, rhythm, restraint, knowing what to leave out. I don't reach for "looks good." I can tell you why a layout holds together and why the version next to it doesn't.

Some of my work starts from a blank file, some from a product that lost the plot. Both come down to the same thing, deciding what matters and having the spine to cut the rest. These days I also spend real time mentoring junior designers and interns, because the fastest way to sharpen your own judgment is to explain it to someone learning to trust theirs.

04 – Principles

A point of view
on the craft.

  1. 01 Listen to the work, not the brief. Briefs describe the symptom. The work is screens, tickets, customer calls, and it shows the actual shape of the problem.
  2. 02 Taste is a decision, not a vibe. "Looks good" isn't a reason. I can tell you why a thing works (the contrast, the rhythm, the restraint) and why the alternative doesn't.
  3. 03 Design and build, in the same room. I don't hand off flat mockups. Figma for shape, Framer and live prototypes for the real thing, so what I show behaves like what ships, not a picture of it.
  4. 04 Hand it back, completely. The real deliverable isn't the file, it's everyone knowing why it's built that way. I hand off the thinking, not just the screens, so nothing breaks the first time someone wants to change it.
